These terms apply when you use cinemap.ai, the cinemap planner, cinemap server or the cinemap player apps, and when you buy from us.

2. Using the calculator

• cinemap is a planning tool. Geometry, brightness and acoustic figures are best estimates based on the gear data we have.
• Check every dimension and spec on site before you buy gear or build anything.
• cinemap doesn't replace a qualified installer, electrician or structural engineer.
• You can use the free calculator without an account. Please don't misuse the service: no scraping, no automated load and no attempts to disrupt it for others.

3. Gear data and who decides what fits

The gear catalogue (projectors, screens, speakers, receivers, amplifiers, cabinets and any categories we add) comes from other sources: manufacturer product pages, published datasheets, retailer catalogues and public databases. We update entries regularly and run automatic checks where we can.

• We can't promise that every spec is right. Manufacturer pages can be wrong, change between product versions, or give hoped-for figures instead of measured ones. Retailer data can lag behind the manufacturer.
• Measure what matters before you buy. If 2 mm of projector depth or 5 mm of cabinet width decides whether your build fits, take a tape measure to the actual unit.
• Brightness, contrast and acoustic figures come from the manufacturers. Real results depend on your room, what you watch and how the system is set up. cinemap's brightness and reverberation (RT60) figures are estimates based on those numbers.
• Compatibility flags (for example ultra-short-throw projector with ALR screen, receiver channel counts, layout support) are rules of thumb, not certifications.
• Prices of gear shown in cinemap are indications. They may leave out taxes, shipping and installation, and change often. The retailer's checkout has the real price.

You decide what to buy and build, and whether it fits and performs as you need. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for purchases or building decisions you make based on cinemap's output, whether the data behind it came from a manufacturer, was entered by hand or was sent in by a user. Section 7 sets out our liability in full.

If you find a mistake in the catalogue, please tell us at hello@cinemap.ai. We correct confirmed mistakes quickly and thank the people who report them in the changelog.

4. Purchases

• One-time purchases only. We don't sell subscriptions. Nothing you buy from us renews or charges you again. Current prices are on our pricing page.
• Branded exports. Branded exports put your own logo, company name, phone number and licence number on the PDF and printed spec the planner produces. You pay for them once, and we send you a licence key. The licence key doesn't expire and doesn't need to be renewed.
• Price. Prices for branded exports are in euros. Before you pay, the checkout page (run by our payment provider Stripe) shows the total you'll pay, including any VAT for your country.
• The contract. Your contract with us starts when your payment goes through. We then email you a confirmation with your licence key.
• cinemap player. cinemap player is in a free TestFlight beta and is not yet on sale. Once it's released, you buy it once through Apple's App Store, and one purchase covers Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro. Apple sells it to you, takes the payment and handles refunds, and Apple's terms govern that purchase. These terms apply to your use of the app as far as Apple's terms allow.
• cinemap server is free. You don't buy anything to use it.
• Buying for a business. If you buy for your business rather than as a consumer, the rules in this section and in section 5 that exist to protect consumers don't apply to you, unless the law says otherwise.

5. Refunds and your right of withdrawal

You can get a full refund within 30 days of paying for branded exports. If you're a consumer, the law also gives you 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. How both work, and a model withdrawal form, are on our refund page. Purchases made through Apple's App Store, such as cinemap player, are refunded by Apple.

6. Your legal guarantee

Paid features must work as we describe them. If they don't, consumers have the rights the law gives for digital content and digital services: to have the problem fixed, to a price reduction, or to end the contract and get money back. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

7. Liability

• We don't limit or exclude our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or where mandatory law, including consumer law, doesn't allow it.
• Apart from that, and as far as the law allows: the free calculator is provided as it is, and we are not liable for purchases or building decisions made based on its output.
• For purchases from us, and as far as the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage.

8. Intellectual property

• The cinemap application, brand and content belong to Daito Design Amsterdam B.V.
• The designs you make are yours. When you share a design, you allow us to show it to the people who open your link.
• Gear data is compiled from public manufacturer sources. We don't claim rights to manufacturers' specs.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If you've bought branded exports, we email you at least 30 days before an important change takes effect. A change never takes away what you've already bought. We also announce changes on cinemap.ai.

10. Which law applies, and where disputes go

• Dutch law applies to these terms and to your use of cinemap.
• If you're a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.
• Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam (Rechtbank Amsterdam). If you're a consumer, you can also go to the courts where you live, and we can only take you to court there.
• Please contact us first: most problems are quicker to solve by email.
