A player in the room, and a server where your films already live.
-
cinemap player
For Apple TV 4K, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro. One purchase covers them all.
The player -
cinemap server for Mac
Serves your films from the menu bar. Your chain, room and calibration are set up here.
On the Mac -
cinemap server for NAS
The same server in a container, tested on QNAP, with Synology to follow. Your films stay where they are.
On the NAS
- cinemap serverYour films on your Mac or NAS, read only
- cinemap playerApple TV, iPhone, iPad or Vision Pro
- Your theatreReceiver, speakers and screen
Nothing in this chain runs through Daito: no account, server or relay of ours.
Every film, read in full.
Open a film and you get the story, the technical detail, and how it will play through your chain, with a map of your speakers.
- One film, many versions. Every copy, on any server, under any file name, is grouped into one film. Each version shows its resolution, HDR, audio and size, and whether it plays as is.
- Clean titles. Official titles, never raw file names. Your files are never renamed.
- TV shows by season and episode, with watched ticks and Up Next.
- Picks up where it left off. If the stream drops, the player rebuilds it and carries on at the same place.
- Nothing drawn over the picture. The buffer gauge lives in the letterbox bars.
Your speakers, per film.
The map shows which of your speakers carry the film's own channels and which your receiver fills in.
One purchase covers all four, and Family Sharing is on, so the whole household can watch.
The server that sits quietly in the menu bar.
Point it at your film folders and it reads them. Set up your chain, room and calibration once, or bring in the room you designed in cinemap.
- Only reads. Nothing in your folders is ever changed, moved or deleted.
- Serves from the menu bar to every cinemap player on your network.
- Stays awake while it serves, and can wake for network access.
- Converts on the fly when a player can't play a file as it is. FFmpeg is built in.
- macOS 14 or later. Free.
Leave your films on the NAS.
The same server runs in a container beside everything else on your NAS. The Apple TV finds it on its own, the way it finds AirPlay speakers.
Your films stay yours.
Your films never leave your house.
They go from your server to your player on your home network. Nothing passes through us: no servers or relays of ours.
No account. Nothing sent to us.
There is no cinemap account to make and no cloud library of ours, and the apps send us nothing. For posters and details, only a film's title and year go to TMDB or Wikidata; file paths and what you watch stay in the house.
Buy once.
One purchase for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro. No subscription, and the server is free.
Films are only read.
Nothing in your library is ever written, renamed, moved or deleted. On a NAS the film folder is mounted read-only.
Away from home: planned to work only through your own Tailscale account, never through a service of ours.
In beta, not in the App Store yet.
cinemap player is in TestFlight while it's tested. Beta builds are free while the beta runs; at launch it's $19.99 once, for every device.
- Apple TV 4K, iPhone, iPad or Vision Pro
- A Mac with macOS 14, or a 64-bit NAS
- Both on the same home network
